Gain a good general overview into the theory and practice of using barley straw to control weeds.
The course is run from our organically and sustainably run field at Buttercup Meadow, Hallington, Northumberland.
This method can clear stubborn and pernicious weeds in several months after just one application of a layer of barley straw. This method involves minimal labour, is non invasive, adds carbon to the soil, increases soil biodiversity and structure.
The course includes theoretical and practical aspects of using the method.
Cost includes light refreshments and free 10g packet of QR activator worth £6.25.
Runs from 10.00 am to 1.00pm.
